Beauty brands team up with movies and TV shows - beauty brands partnerships
L’Oréal Paris and The Devil Wears Prada 2 highlight beauty brands’ growing role in film and TV storytelling.

The beauty industry is expanding its reach through strategic alliances with film and television productions, supporting product collaborations, sponsorships, and on-screen brand integrations that merge entertainment with consumer goods. This approach leverages storytelling and visual appeal to deepen audience engagement.

Recent high-profile examples highlight the trend’s momentum. The Devil Wears Prada 2 incorporated multiple beauty brand partnerships into its narrative, while L’Oréal Paris secured a prominent placement in Prime Video’s Elle, the prequel to Legally Blonde. These initiatives go beyond traditional advertising by embedding products within the worlds and characters audiences already connect with, creating a more immersive experience.

Industry analysts attribute the success of these partnerships to shared core values. Mared Parry, Editorial Lead at Betches UK, explains that collaborations thrive when tied to established franchises boasting dedicated fanbases or a distinctive visual identity. Stacey Jones, CEO of Hollywood Branded, reinforces this by noting that both sectors rely on emotional resonance and self-expression, allowing consumers to adopt looks and confidence cues from on-screen personalities.

The impact on consumers is immediate and practical. Viewers now encounter beauty products in contexts that feel organic—whether through a lipstick favored by a fictional protagonist or a skincare regimen inspired by a show’s luxurious aesthetic. This integration bridges entertainment and everyday life, supporting a sense of participation rather than passive observation.

While from the outside these two industries may appear worlds apart, Matilda Boys-Stones, Senior Account Manager at experience agency DIVE (sister agency to cinema advertising giant Pearl & Dean), explains that: “Both industries are rooted in storytelling and expression, which is one of the reasons partnerships are so effective. “Brands like Rimmel, Estée Lauder and Chanel are continuing to demand this connection and working with us to bring fresh ideas to an established heritage.”

For many, movies and television offer an escape from reality, a sentiment many beauty lovers can relate to through creative colour cosmetics and wind-down rituals led by wellness routines.
