Lara Worthington Returns to Beauty with Ommage

Lara Worthington has returned to beauty entrepreneurship with Ommage, a contemporary cosmetics brand that merges sculptural design with adaptable formulas and a minimalist approach to makeup. The brand launched today, available in Australia and the US through Ommage.com, debuting with three products: First Base, Lip Coat, and the Buffer Brush. Ommage will also open physical retail spaces starting at Dover Street Parfums Market in Paris and host a launch event at Climax Books in New York.
From The Base to Ommage
Ommage is not Worthington’s first venture into beauty. In 2014, she launched The Base by Lara Bingle, initially focusing on tanning and makeup. Its breakout product, LB Cream, became a bestseller as a tinted complexion cream positioned between moisturizer and foundation. The brand later evolved into Share The Base, a not-for-profit supporting Australian charities through product proceeds.
More than a decade after the original launch, Ommage marks a new chapter with direct product lineage. Worthington revealed in 2024 she was rebuilding her beauty business under a new identity and product concept, confirming LB Cream would return. The product evolved into First Base, with the formula unchanged but the shade range expanded from five to 12 tones. She spent three years developing the brand, focusing on design, texture, and the rituals of product use.
“I genuinely believed it was about the creative,” Worthington wrote earlier this year. The process extended beyond packaging and campaigns into operational execution, she noted.
Beauty Philosophy and Design
Ommage reflects Worthington’s long-standing advocacy for uncomplicated makeup and streamlined routines. Since 2015, she emphasized The Base was built around products enhancing natural beauty rather than covering it. This philosophy persists in Ommage, now with a more raised, design-driven identity.
Product Details and Market Positioning
First Base, priced at $68 for 30ml, is a buildable tinted cream hydrating and evening the complexion without obscuring skin. Its 12 shades include Pinch, Twist, Stretch, Squeeze, Fold, Push, Bend, Crush, Press, Scrunch, Crumple, and Flatten. Lip Coat, at $52, offers long-lasting, buildable color with a blurred, hydrating finish in eight shades: In The Red, Rust N Bone, Full Blooded, Burnt Orange, Inner Lip, Pressed Grapes, Razor Soft, and Sweet Spot. The Buffer Brush, $58, pairs a weighted aluminum handle with ultra-soft vegan fibers, designed specifically for First Base application.
